Call of Duty: Elite

There is new leaked information on Modern Warfare 3 released by Kotaku. While Treyarch introduced Zombie Mode into the Call of Duty games developed by them, Infinity Ward has now implemented a mode similar to Zombie Mode. It is the Spec Ops Survival Mode, where hordes of enemies attack you in waves. There are other Spec Ops modes such as mission mode where you are given an objective and must take down enemies along the way.

It has also been revealed that the online multiplayer will have 20 available maps. Though there are no screen shots of the online multiplayer maps, it has been hinted that New York, London, Berlin, and Paris, which are in the single player, will be on the online multiplayer as well. There has been little footage of what the Spec Ops Survival mode looks like and what maps are available for it.

Some of the perks included in the multiplayer are Blind Eye, Assassin, Point Guard, Dead Silence, and Recon. Blind Eye gives you immunity from computer and player controlled killstreaks. The pro version allows you to lock on faster with launchers and gives you extra bullet damage to vehicles. Assassin makes you invisible to UAVs, thermal, and heartbeat sensors. The pro version makes you immune to counter UAVs, and hides your clan tag, name, and red crosshairs. Point Guard counts every two assist kills as a whole kill. Dead Silence will most likely be the same as in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Recon will be some type of motion sensor radar available on you at all times.

Some the killstreaks have been revealed which are EMP grenade, Precision Airstrike, Stealth Bomber, Littlebird, Remote Turret, Escort Airdrop, Remote Mortar, and Directional UAV. One killstreak that has been confirmed as removed is the Tactical Nuke. It has not been confirmed yet if these killstreak are not stackable like in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Modern Warfare 3 will now have team perks, which will most likely be a defensive style of perk, like Blast Shield, Health Regen, and Stun Protection. We cannot guarantee that these killstreaks will remain in the final version of the games, because it is usual that the multiplayer gets tweaked and modified before the final release. This game is just months away from its release date and we'll just have to wait to see what features will truly be released.

Comp 2000: Gaming the World

Comp 2000: Gaming the WorldAfter the solid success of Elvis: That's the Way It Is, and with his career as a movie actor having reached a standstill, Elvis Presley undertook a second concert documentary. Elvis on Tour trails after the King on a few concert dates in 1972, as he powers through a curious set list that downplays the classic hits in favor of the likes of "Polk Salad Annie" and "Proud Mary." Rehearsal footage, preshow jitters, and after-hours sessions singing gospel with the gang are included; most revealing is a sequence that follows Elvis off stage and into his waiting limo, where he towels off in exhaustion, cracks a few jokes, and listens to the praise of the entourage. These glimpses are a logical counterpoint to the concert material; less explicable is the rundown of Elvis's early years, which hardly fits the subject at hand--and frankly reminds us that Elvis looks pale and just a bit puffy at this moment in his life. The fun stuff includes a workout on the still-new "Burning Love" (Elvis has to read from a lyric sheet), committed takes on "Bridge over Troubled Water" and "I Got a Woman," and a spirited "Never Been to Spain," a song that fits Elvis's taste for simple, dramatic builds. That, and Elvis giving a stage introduction to "the guy that gives me my water and my scarves and so forth." The movie's structure feels a little random, not that that will matter to fans. At times it catches the King looking undeniably weary of it all, except in those moments when a song really catches him (certainly during the gospel moments) and you see just how utterly "in the music" he was. The split-screen approach is intact, and the film's "montage supervisor" was a young fellow named Martin Scorsese. Note about this 2010 edition: The original song that played under the opening credits, a cover of "Johnny B. Goode," has been replaced (apparently due to rights issues) with a live "Don't Be Cruel." --Robert Horton

A Short History of Sudoku

Sudoku's history is a fascinating subject for those who are devoted to the game. You would imagine, based on its name, that Sudoku originated in Japan, but it actually appeared first in the United States and in the UK. Sudoku was first published in the late 1970's in North America in New York by the publisher "Dell Magazines". Dell, a specialist in puzzles of logic and ability, published Sudoku as "Number Place" in its Math Puzzles and Logic Problems magazine.

The American Version of Sudoku

It has not been absolutely determined who designed the modern American version of Sudoku, but some believe it was Walter Mackey, who was one of Dell's puzzle creators. Others believe it was Howard Garns, a 74-year-old retired architect and freelance puzzle constructor from Indiana. The reasoning for believing that it was Garns was because he was always on the list of contributors in issues of Dell Pencil Puzzles and Word Games that included "Number Place", but his name was always missing from issues that did not.

Sudoku Reaches Japan

Sudoku finally did reach Japan when the Japanese found a "Number Place' in a Dell magazine and translated it as something quite different: su meaning number and doku meaning single unit. It was introduced to Japan by Nikoli in 1984. The puzzle appeared in the Monthly Nikolist in April as "Suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru". This can be translated to "the numbers must be there in only on instance". It immediately caught on in Japan, which is only natural, when you consider that Crosswords don't work very well in the Japanese language, and so number puzzles are much more prevalent there than word puzzles.

In 1986, the popularity of the puzzle increased, and Nikoli introduced two different versions of Sudoku. It is now published in many mainstream Japanese periodicals, including the Asahi Shimbun. The trademark name of Sudoku is still held by Nikoli while other publications in Japan use other names.

Sudoku and the Computer

It was not long before Sudoku could be played by computer. "DigitHunt" was created for the Commodore 64 in 1984 by a company called Loadstar/Softdisk Publishing. This home computer version of Sudoku allowed people of all ages to enjoy the game in a convenient manner and on demand, right on their computer screens.

The Modern Sudoku Craze

The Sudoku puzzle continued to grow in popularity and reached craze status in Japan in 2004 and the craze spread to the United States and the UK through pages of national newspapers. With this increased popularity came more analysis and a deeper scrutiny of Sudoku. It was an accepted belief that practically speaking, there are virtually endless solution grids for the 9x9 Sudoku puzzle. In 2005, Bertram Felgenhauer calculated the number to be about 6,670,903,752,021,072,936,960. He arrived at this number using logical computations. The analysis of the number of solution grids was further simplified by Frazer Jarvis and Ed Russell. It has not yet been calculated how many solution grids there are for the 16 x 16 Sudoku puzzle.

Sudoku is now published in a variety of places including the New York Post and USA Today. The puzzle is also reprinted by Kappa in GAMES magazine. The Daily Telegraph uses the name "Sudoku" and you may see the puzzle called "su doku" in other places. Many times you will find Sudoku included in puzzle anthologies which include The Giant 1001 Puzzle Book. In these books Sudoku is usually titled something like "Nine Numbers". Its popularity is such that "Sudoku" is now a well-known word around the world, and is part of millions of Google searches every month.

Gaming in Washington DC - Not Just for the President and Congress Anymore

So, you like to play all sorts of video, computer, and online games with your friends. Well then, perhaps you belong to a couple of online gaming communities too. Sure, it's exciting and fun, and in Washington DC they want to recruit you to play online, perhaps even play for a little money too, and if you think you are too old for such things, think again, because the games they are talking about are geared towards serious adults.

In fact, there was a great article recently in the Wall Street Journal by the great writer Alexandra Berzon titled "Nation's Capital Bets Online Poker is Lawful - Washington, D.C.'s Budget Lets Lottery Operate Gambling Website in Challenge to Federal Government's Effective Ban" which was published on April 8, 2011. Apparently, the city council voted approval for the Government's Lottery website to offer online gaming and poker gambling to help shore up the budget, which is rather interesting because currently it is illegal to gamble online in the United States.

Indeed, all this kind of reminds me a little of that silly bumper sticker, the one that reads "Don't Steal, the Government Hates Competition" - and although I am not quite that cynical, I am fascinated by the predicament that this approval has put the Federal Government in. In the above mentioned article the poker players alliance stated that it wouldn't be a viable business anyway, as the pool of poker players around DC is only about 600,000 people, but it could help the budget.

If I were a betting man, well, I'd bet Steve Wynn in Las Vegas is happy to hear about this, as he's just invested in a major online poker website and has been lobbying heavy to get the Nevada Gaming Commission to allow the online gambling in Nevada. It's hard to say if other jurisdictions and lottery commissions will also try such a thing, perhaps budget ridden California might attempt to do the same thing to shore up its budget, as Jerry Brown has now come to town, and he has sworn he will slash the budget and he's not clowning around.

Looks as if Washington DC is all in, and others will soon follow. What was once considered illegal may soon be a way to drive revenue to the poorly funded government coffers at both the state and federal level, and who knows maybe some counties and cities, or perishes might also get in on the action? Time will tell, but if I were a betting man, that's where I'd lay my cards. Please consider all this and think on it.

Flight Simulator Online Games And Flight Training Emulators

A man-made system that replicates as well as models the concept of piloting an aircraft in an ultra realistic fashion is known as a flight simulator. Types of sims can vary between the latest video game to accurate cockpit replication, positioned on a hydraulic actuator, managed through cutting-edge computer technology.

Utilisation of flight emulation modules used in the aircraft training and handling sector has become varied - through educating pilots and also airline flight staff to construction and production in both Armed Services and commercial airliners. Aerospace manufacturers also employ engineering versions to create and explore flying components, applications and even aircraft technology.

A Few Of The Best And Outstanding Video Game Songs

They set the tone for the gameplay, drive us straight into the action, and as the list down below points out, they are truly one of the main things we recall about our particular video gaming experiences.

These are the top, most unforgettable tracks as well as scores from my favorite video game titles. Prepare yourselves, we are going to get nostalgic.

Tetris

This was back in the golden age of handhelds and in which a color Game Boy was the end result of a paint accident, not an answer to the GameGear. Just listening to this tune gives me the chills. One, because it is very specific and identifiable. Two, I usually used to have fun with Tetris prior to going the dentist, which gave me chills for a whole, another reason.

Super Mario Brothers

This is one more song which would teleport you back to your childhood years. The moment this track came on, it absolutely was as though I was back in my old basement, with absolutely nothing but a small NES controller and a box of dunkaroos. They just don't come up with them like they used to (game titles that is, dunkaroos I do think continue to be around). This song has actually been remixed more times than Cher, yet remain true to the original, and you will remember exactly why this theme song is among the all-time best.

Sonic The Hedgehog

I played this one almost entirely on the GameGear. Sure it was a bit heavy, but the way that music pumped through those sound systems like lightning through a bottle made me feel like I actually owned the whole world in my palms. This game single-handedly got me through summer trips to Hilton Head and back (it is quite hard traveling in a car full of sisters). Remember going up against Dr. Robotnik? Have fun playing the above video game and it would be impossible to forget about.

Gran Turismo

This is the game which broke in my Playstation. The gameplay was impressive, and to this very day makes it one of, if not the, greatest driving game titles ever made. That being said, I am unsure if I have ever seen this intro video from start to finish and as cinematic and fantastic as it would be, I often just skipped my way to the game itself. Try it out above, and make you have an old copy of the video game handy since you are gonna immediately would like to play it.

Metal Gear Solid

Most likely my favorite video game of all time, this game had everything: storyline, characters, remarkable game play (although I hated going all the way back to the armory to get the PSG-1 and then finally comprehending exactly what Diazepam was for).

While this might be a bit of a stretch as a track, just listening to this alert sends shivers down my back. For anyone who remember the game, it was used once you had been spotted and were on the opponent's radar, although I cannot quite recall it lasting this long (unless you were dead). Nonetheless, it really is one of the most renowned scores in game titles, and was a staple of one of gaming's most successful franchises.

Star Fox

Possibly one of the most well-known game title songs of all-time. Incorporate this track with awesome gameplay which was ahead of its time and you've got among the best tandems to ever hit the SNES. It is kind of a mystery that no flying video game up to this day was able to counter just what Star Fox created (yes, I'm looking at you Ace Combat/Top Gun). I last saw this on the 64 then it was out of my life forever but Corneria nevertheless lives on.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater

You would like to discuss getting mileage out of a game title and I devoted an entire summer sucking every single point out of THPS and after that going back and doing the same all over again. It was among the first game titles I remember playing that had songs you would in fact hear on the radio.

The very first version included musicians such as Dead Kennedys as well as Goldfinger. When the video game reached number 4, it had the likes of AC/DC, System Of A Down, and Run DMC on the playlist.

Today, it's quite common to have popular artists play a substantial role in the development of a video game soundtrack, but Tony Hawk was among the first that put seemingly as much interest into its soundtrack as it did the video game itself.

Halo

The video game that took over university campuses and reinvented what the term multiplayer suggested (8-on-8, are you kidding me?). It likewise made capture the flag, what was the most common outdoor activity among children, almost solely an indoor game.

The music is so good it sounds like something from a movie. Halo basically was its own film if you look back and think it over, so that seems sensible.

Mortal Kombat

This song would always wake me up for school on Mondays. That is exactly how impressive Techno Syndrome was. Not surprisingly, the Jace Hall music video takes it a step further, setting up the future of Mortal Kombat and taking game title music videos to a new aspect.

But that is the good thing about the song, it is spun completely new edition after new edition. The aforementioned is my personal favorite remix and well, right until the latest one launches tomorrow.

On a last note, I know that this list is omitting possibly 500 other song titles which could easily have made the list. Hence, I suggest to you to add yours below as well as shout profanities at me on how I could possibly leave it out.

In order to cover my bases, as well as to show a very great video that some of you may not have seen, I suggest to you to check out this video below.

The Jace Hall Show is an online reality show that covers video game news and personalities as well as interviews with film/tv/sports celebrities. It also has articles that features video game songs and top songs in video games.

Tennis Game - Rules to Follow

Playing a tennis game on the internet requires you to follow the same rules that are applied when playing it in person. There are different sites that give you a chance to take part in the sport. If you have never played it before, there is no need to worry because each site offers instructions. You can also start with a simple match to help you learn the basics. There are various rules that a player is expected to follow during the sport. This will make it easier for you to collect more points and gave more fun in the process. The rules that are applied are simple. The main idea of the sport is for one player to serve or hit the ball from one of the corners in the court and the other player is expected to return it while making sure it only bounces once. When returning the ball, a player is supposed to make it difficult for the other player to make a hit. A player scores if the other player is not able to hit the ball or if the ball bounces more than once.

Sets
A tennis game is usually divided into sets. A player wins a set if they have more than two or more games clear. Before the sport starts, one of the players has to serve. The player who serves first is expected to serve in all the sets. An opponent can only serve once all the sets are complete.

Points Scored
To score points in a tennis game, you have to land the balls within the court before the opposing player gets into contact with it. If the ball bounces at least twice in the opposing player's court, you get a point in that set. A player has to score a minimum of four points and lead by two points in order to be considered a winner in a set.

Winning Sets
In some cases, two players can get the same points in a set and this means that another round is required in order to get a winner. This is because the two point difference is still required to declare a winner. If a player has a one-point lead, it is not adequate for a win. A set is made up of six rounds of the sport. In order to make sure the ball lands in the other court, it is necessary to assume that the net is higher than it really is. This is the best way to get the ball to land deeper into the other court.

It is very easy to learn how to play a tennis game on the internet. Just use the provided link to know more and try out a tennis game.

The kids will find a wide number of them on the internet and they can select the ones that will give them the mental exercises they need.

Mathematics Puzzles
These types of games are set on mathematics and they are designed to provide the kids with the chance to solve various types of mathematical problems. Some of them will deal with the basic operations such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication, and the kids will be required to use them in a correct sequence in order to solve a problem presented to them. Other problems that the kids can solve using them include geometrical problems and arithmetic.

Develop critical thinking
Some of these puzzle games are logical and others are set in a logic-grid pattern and will require the kids to figure out the best answers to the different situations, set out a pattern by use of clues and others. There are quite a number of these online and the kids will need to reason well in order to come up with the best solution to the different situations that they are provided with.

Playing
In order to get the kids interested in these puzzle games, it is recommended that the parents start out with simple and fun ones. This is important because, when they start with the tough questions, they will stress the child out and their interest in them will subside or completely fade away. Fortunately, they are available for different ages of kids and parents will find many simple and interesting ones to introduce the child to.

Once the children have shown their interest, they can now start checking out others levels or versions. They can also engage their children and encourage them to select the ones that they like the most. In doing this, they will be offering the children the control over them and thus facilitate the development of these skills. They can also take part in these plays, and offer their children the support they need as they learn. When they do so, they will not only make their children relaxed but also give them a fresh mindset to handle different situations while having fun at the same time.

Puzzle games have been around for ages and they are known to be fun and exciting. The parents and teachers can also use puzzle games to help develop critical thinking in children.

Maximize Your BrickBreaker Score

BrickBreaker has become one of the most popular classic BlackBerry games and scoring the highest has become an addictive competition amongst BlackBerry users. However, if you are not equipped with the right tips and strategies, you can only wonder at scores as high as 10,000 to 20000 and more.

The first thing that high-scorers must remember about BrickBreaker is that surviving the game is more important than checking your score. If you can concentrate on getting to level 34 and beating it twice, your score automatically shoots up from the 3rd cycle onwards.

After beating level 34 the first time you go back to level one but during this second round the ball moves faster. But if you manage to reach the last level once again, in the third round the ball speed goes back to the initial slow speed, which makes it much easier to play. And the best part is that the slow speed remains a constant after the third cycle but the higher scores rates remain the same. This way, you can continue breaking higher and higher scores without having to stress too much about it.

However even while playing for the first few rounds, there's no harm knowing certain tricks to save those lives for later when you will really need them. It is advisable to start shots from the middle rather than sides as the ball usually bounces haywire in the latter case. The trick is to be patient and play safe instead of trying to score during the first two rounds. Also being focused on the ball is necessary. Your playing situation also helps a lot. Avoid playing in moving trains, cars or places where you can't sit steady. It is also important that you hold the BlackBerry with both your hands so that you get a better grip and control. As soon as you reach the third cycle, you can start achieving those amazingly high scores.

As you go higher up in the game, the ball speed will increase till it slows down again on the third cycle. So you will have to focus on controlling your ball properly before you can score high. You will need to train yourself for handling the speed on the second cycle during your initial stages in the game. This will also make sure that you have a much easier time when the score rate goes up and the ball slows down again.

One last crucial thing to remember is that the special capsules can be both good and bad. It really depends on which level you are on in order for you to decide whether a given capsule is bad or good. So keep a sharp watch on the effects of each capsule and choose accordingly. This will help you avoid unnecessary complications and life losses. Furthermore, choose your ball launching point carefully. Sometimes, launching it a few clicks away from the center can really help you get more impact.

Visit BrickBreaker Guide for screenshots and walkthroughs of every BrickBreaker level, as well as more in-depth tips and tricks to help you improve your high score.

Diablo 3 Ponders A PC Console Gaming Port

As could be anticipated, the interview retained the minimum degree of hype the game needs to be able to both not be ignored about, and likewise not be so expected that our gamer brains burst as though we just experienced the plot of Groundhog's Day on Christmas Eve. Plenty of intriguing items were pointed out, yet mostly about how they perceived Diablo was going to become more Diablo-y as well as awesome-r. Just what really captured my attention was something which was glossed over at the conclusion of the article.

AG: What are the chances we'll actually see Diablo III on consoles in the near future?

KM: We're definitely looking into it. We're seriously considering it. I would say that the whole system specs thing is one of the cool things about Blizzard. You're always hearing in interviews with us about the death of the PC gaming.

This is interesting to us since, for one, we were just going over the possible "Death of the PC" just the other week. Yet, two, since it's been awhile since we have experienced Blizzard port a game over into a gaming console, and now they're contemplating it.

The implications of this working with Battle.Net makes it appear to be it would be somewhat hard, particularly if they do not intend to get into games consoles as a staple product. Nonetheless, if they too feel the decline of PC gaming, Diablo would be a superb game title, and maybe their last franchise title, to use to take Battle.Net into the gaming console sector.

As a quick aside, Blizzard has not really experienced the pangs that many developers most likely may with the whole "drop of the PC" deal. This would be because, for me, they did the intelligent thing and developed video games for both of the leading operating systems available, instead of a mass of other developers.

What numerous individuals might be disregarding in all of this is that Blizzard in fact unveiled console video games before Warcraft ever took them to a new level of developer. The game titles were rather well done and successful to boot. Lost Vikings and Rock and Roll Racing come to mind.

As a developer, Blizzard generally only releases games of high quality, despite the amount of time and money put into it. Starcraft: Ghost, an FPS type game, was never released for this exact reason. I'm personally anticipating seeing the way they integrate Battle.Net into the console experience.

Gaming, Innovating, Imitating, and Cloning Considered

Sometimes it seems that many video games, although they have different graphics, tend to have the same feel as you play. There is a very good reason for this, and perhaps, it comes from the human ability to imitate, and copy - it's innate, but does that make it okay? Ah, do I hear more controversy in the gaming community? Surely, I jest. Some rather innovative gaming programmers are miffed as others nix their creative abilities and copy their games. How bad is it, whom does it hurt, and why are such open-source advocates now angry at the borrowing of gaming themes and styles of play?

Indeed there was terrific article not too long ago in the Los Angeles Times titled "Game Developers Fight a Cloning War - Some Creators Feel Cheated By Alleged Idea Theft, But Others Think Cloning Can Be Good for Gaming" by Jamin Brophy-Warren, which was published on April 18, 2011. The article discusses the challenges of proprietary themes and concepts in video, internet, and computer gaming along with the proverbial quote; "Imitation is the highest form of flattery" motif.

Question is; when does outright copying of a computer game idea violate patent laws, or proprietary source? Further, I ask; is it illegal, in poor taste, or just unethical to make such copies, and when genres are copied in the movies, books, literature, and computer games who wins, and who really loses?

If there is a market for games of certain genres, styles, and scenarios then surely gaming programmers will come to the gamer's, and consumer's rescue right? I mean if there is money out there and folks desire certain types of games, you can bet gaming entrepreneurs will fulfill those wants and needs - that's how it works in the market place and the gaming sector and computer game industry is surely no different.

Consider if you will the counter argument to the gaming programmers who get pissed-off that others are basically copying their ideas, and merely changing the graphics. What If - no one was allowed to copy a given genre in literature, novels, or movies? There would be only one Western Movie, one Romance Novel, one Science Fiction Novel with aliens, etc. Would that really be fair to the public, who wants to be entertained with money in hand?

And to that point of contention, what about the Movie "Tron" and its central theme, namely; "power to users" - would the industry really be served if no other companies copied the standard genres or the future sub-genres? After all, people loved the movie Matrix, and that entire branch of Sci Fi mixed with philosophy. Many computer games are now based on similar themes, so they too copied a Movie Genre. Now the computer gamer programmers are angry that folks are copying their style, or various version of play, should they be?

After all the more others copy them, the more gamers buy games in that genre or using those styles, which makes it that much more powerful and therefore, more money for those who produce new games, and more sales for the old ones too, longer shelf life of active sales. See that point? I knew you would.

3 Things NOT To Do At A Major YuGiOh Card Tournament

When you go to your regionals or other big tournaments, you go to have a great time. You will learn a lot from going such as game play, strategies and even card rulings. What you will also learn, and probably the most important, will be what NOT to do.

Knowing what not to do can make the difference between you being a super star "pro" winner and just being the person wishing they could be the person that won the whole tournament.

Here are 3 top things NOT to do at a regionals or any tournament:

3. Get To Your Match 3 or 10 minutes Late

When you look at the pairing list, make sure you go to your assigned table number ASAP. If you take your time and arrive 3 minutes late you will get a game lost. If you arrive 10 minutes late you will get a match lost. So if you happen to be in the bathroom and the pairings go up. You better finish up real quick or you just might have to win 2 games in a row.

2. Listening To The Judge Give His Ruling On Other Matches Around You

It's great to hear and know the rulings of different cards, just in case you play them or might have to play against them. But remember, you are in a match and that match has a time limit. Every second counts when you are in a timed match. It can make the difference of who wins and loses. Don't waste time listening in and learning. You can do that after your match is over.

1. Don't Buy Cards From Other Players

I know the store you play in may have a case full of cards at high prices. Or at least what we feel are high prices. But what you need to remember is they have bills to pay too. If they didn't pay the people to run the tournament/event you wouldn't be there. By you buying the card from someone else for $5.00 cheaper, you are taking money out of the store. The same store that either is your local or main store for large event.

But if you still are going to do it, make sure you don't do it in the store or even around the store. Go to a McDonald's or some fast food store around you and do your transaction there. And also don't start bragging about your deal when you go back to the store either. Tell your friends about it on the ride home or away from the store.

So make sure you follow these 3 rules of what not to do and you will become a better YuGiOh player.

And to get you started with your YuGiOh Stratergy, you can claim your Free Instant Access to a video showing you how to prevent making the top 5 playing mistakes when you visit

Pump It Up: Play The Awesome South Korean Cousin Of The Dance Dance Revolution Games!

If you have ever been in an arcade then you probably know what Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) is: the original Japanese dance game (produced by Konami) where you hit the rising arrows on-screen with rhythmical fashion. From experienced players that move their feet like crazy while grabbing themselves to the bar behind them, to newbies that are still trying to figure out how to position themselves on the platform, lots of people from all ages enjoy this simple yet outstanding line of games. Not only it is fun and addicting, but it's also an awesome physical exercise and a great way of sharing with other people.

Now, next time you visit your local arcade check out if there is a similar game sitting somewhere around; a machine that is "alone" most of the time. Instead of having a '+' shaped platform with 4 arrow buttons (up, down, left and right), it will have a 'x' shaped platform with 5 buttons, which are up-right, up-left, down-right, down-left, and the center button respectively. This is Pump It Up (PIU), the not-so-known but still great cousin of the DDR franchise.

PIU is Developed by Andamiro, a South Korean arcade game developer company, and is really popular in its home country and in Latin America. Its music repertoire includes primarily K-Pop, but also has tunes in different languages (English, Spanish, and others), some techno beats and even remixes of classical music and public domain music, while DDR focuses on J-Pop and techno mostly. Also, from experience, I can say that PIU requires more stamina from the player than DDR (which is good if you plan to use any of these games for exercising), while DDR focuses a bit more on synchronization and coordination. It is a shame that PIU is not as popular and widespread as its counterpart; however, if you decide you would like to give PIU a try, this is indeed an advantage, as PIU machines are a lot less crowded than DDR machines, which are almost always being used by someone.

The best way to start playing PIU is by first finding an arcade near you that has a PIU machine. Home-based PIU systems are unfortunately rare, but if you ever decide to play PIU at home frequently, a very flexible metallic pad you can use to play it and play DDR as well is a Cobalt Flux. Once you find a PIU machine, start the game, stand on the platform, and follow the on-screen instructions for selecting songs. If the version of PIU you are playing offers a tutorial mode, play in that mode and follow the lessons (you might need 2 or 3 tokens to get through all of them). If not, just choose a level 1 (or 1 star) song and start playing!

A couple of tips: once you start a song, put yourself on a "neutral stance", which could be either having your left foot on the up-left arrow (or down-left) and your right foot on the down-right arrow (or up-right), so that your feet are NOT both on the 'up' or 'down' section, but diagonal to each other. That way, you can send your feet to the other arrows when necessary more easily. If no arrows are appearing on-screen at one moment of the song, take advantage of it and return to your neutral stance.

Also, don't commit the mistake of constantly holding the bar behind you while playing! It might make the game easier, but it creates dependence and takes away a lot of the movement and equilibrium effort that makes this game such a good workout. Instead, a better way of maintaining equilibrium is to incline your body to the front a little bit while playing, and also extend your arms to your sides if needed. Only use the bar as a "life-saver" if you feel you are losing equilibrium, or if you feel you are going to fall; then, keep dancing without touching the bar.

Just like in DDR, once you start playing and get more used to the game, you will find that you will need to move your feet differently and master several other maneuvers as you play harder and harder songs. You will also want to eventually try doubles songs, which involve using the whole 2-player platform, and even songs on performance level, which involve complex moves that will require you to practically perform a choreography!

Pump It Up and Dance Dance Revolution are both great games and awesome ways of working out. If you are a DDR player, or have never played a dance game before and would like to get started, then give PIU a try; you will have a great time. Happy dancing!

The Gaming Classroom: The Overly-Hyped Educational Video Game - Part 1 of 3

Video games, video games, video games. Everyone plays video games. On the TV, on the computer, on the iPhone, iPad, and basically any device that has a screen. I see it everywhere. In New York City where I live, I see adults playing video games on their phones in the subway going to and from work. You can't text or make phone calls down in the subway, so you might as well play video games to pass the time. Or so that's the way it appears to me.

We are creating a species of the human race that have learned to spend most of its leisure time, and time in between other more important responsibilities, to playing games. What about a conversation with your neighbor, or paying attention to your surroundings, or "collecting" your thoughts? These simple aspects of life have been replaced with a new past time called gaming.

Gaming is so ubiquitous that it has already entered the education system as a technique for learning and improving student's test scores.

Gaming In The Classroom

It's not new that video games have entered the education system. But the tide has certainly turned and is beginning an uncontrollable flood into our classrooms. Children are growing up in a supposedly high tech classroom in which they are going to be increasingly more and more surrounded by games. It seems like it's the only thing that grabs their attention these days, so the education system has decided to go with the flow and bring gaming into the classroom.

One gaming system in particular, DimensionU Educational Game Suite, created by Tabulus Digita, has made enormous strides in entering the education system and has achieved some attractive results. Or so it seems...

This article will be a 3-part series discussing the results of three different studies done using the DimensionU game suite on students K-12.

Study #1: Increased Test Scores And A Play On Words A University of Central Florida study found that students who played the games demonstrated greater gain scores from pre-test to post-test (mean increase of 8.07) than students who did not play the game (mean increase of 3.74);

Wait, Not So Fast!

Certainly, I support any technology that can help students achieve higher test scores. The United States is so far behind in Math, Reading, and Science that even a small improvement is welcome.

But, I'm not satisfied with the results of the studies found above.

Let's read into the studies more deeply. First, the University of Central Florida study used the word "mean" to describe the "average" increase in test scores. Though statisticians debate that there is a huge difference between the meaning of the two words, I will replace "mean" with "average" to make my points more clearly. By using the word "mean" in this study infers that the calculation was made by the total sum of all test scores divided by the number of tests taken. We're basically talking about the average test scores of all the students. It's Division 101. So, the average test score increased by 8.07% for the students who played the educational video games compared to a 3.74% average increase in test scores for the students that did not play any games.

Let's put this into more practical terms. If we assume that students had an average test score of 75 out of 100, then the students who played the games increased to an average score of 81 compared to a 78 for the students that didn't play games. Not bad but not great either. The truth is that most of the students had very below average grades in Math before the study even began. So in my opinion, at best the results took a "very low" student in Math and raised him/her to just a "low" student in Math. Still below-average. I would have liked to have seen the study done on students who already achieved passing grades in Math to take part in this study.

Why Video Games Are Not The Answer
Are we really going to put our faith in the future education of our children in video games? That study was done over two 9-week periods. And what the results don't tell you unless you read the full report is that a majority of the students had extremely low grades in Math. 64% were considered "very low" in mathematical skills prior to the study. Only 4% were considered high. That means an 8% increase in math scores would still have kept these students in the "low" part of the skills category.

Teaching Laziness In The Classroom

I support any technique that increases Math scores. Certainly, these below-average students need as much help as they can get. What I fear, is that they will only learn "how to learn" with video games. I don't want video games to become a replacement to other forms of learning that are effective but necessarily in vogue. Plus, technology has already proven to make us lazy. Do we want to teach laziness in the classroom too?

How has mankind expanded knowledge through the millennia? From learning math fundamentals through a video game system? Let's not forget how we all arrived to this point in history. It was because some really smart people contributed ideas to society that we now get to enjoy in this modern civilization that we habitat. These "smart people" weren't born with intelligence, they developed it through work and study.

Where Are The Hard Facts To Backup Gaming In School?

I will also mention that it has been difficult to get hard numerical data for the benefits of gaming on test scores in Math, Reading, and Science. We are still in its infancy. Let's move forward carefully, skeptically, and deliberately. We want to remain mindful that the well-being of future generations is at stake here.

There's Another Solution That Few Want To Pay Attention To

We're searching for solutions in technology for all of our problems including our education system. Well, there is a solution that has been in existence for thousands of years and its benefits can easily be traced as far back as the Renaissance Period.

The solution is to learn a musical instrument. Learning how to read and play music does not break down math and reading into separate video games to learn each subject or task one and a time. Learning music stimulates both left and right hemispheres of the brain at the same time, which accelerates the building of mathematical and linguistic intelligences. I've been reading about how video games improve multi-tasking skills which is great, but, music has been doing this for hundreds of years. It just doesn't have the "sexy" appeal of newer, more technological ways.

In Part 2 of this article, I will discuss in more detail the second study of DimensionU on students' test scores, and also begin to compare the results of studying music on test scores, using hard facts and numerical data to make a clearer comparison.

Understanding The Bubbles Game

Bubbles game is one of the online typing games that a person can get to play and enjoy quality leisure time. It can be selected free of charge from online sites and once used to playing it more times in a day then it leads to addiction which every player has to be wary of. It's played in a very simple way since with a computer system it is the easiest thing to do. By using the mouse, a player aims at shooting the bubble and the more balls removed the higher the chances of him or her winning the game. They come in different colors and the objective of the game is to put all that have the same color together for higher winning chances.

Vital Playing Steps

The game may seem easy or simple to play but it is until after having a try that the reality of how difficult it is to play leave alone winning dawns on a person. However, by following these simple steps one can rest assured of winning the next time he or she is playing.

- Use the cannon attached to the arrow at the bottom part of the computer screen to move the playing balls. This is the only thing that can be used to move them and there is no other options thus it is compulsory for any player to understand how it works as the first step in playing the game.

- Use the mouse to manipulate the cannon in such a way that it shoots the playing balls to the direction that you want them to move and that should definitely be where they can shoot the next ones online.

- Get three or more bubbles that are of the same color to line up together and that will make it easy to pop them up thus increasing the winning chances. The cannon in most cases indicates the color of the bubble to be shot which enables a player to plan how to get the maximum number he or she is targeting.

- Once all the playing balls have been lined up as per their specific colors and popped up then a player wins the game immediately the last set of bubbles pop up. The points earned will depend on the period spent in a particular game before it concludes therefore aim at using the least time since the more a player stays the less the points earned.

Bubbles game can be played by any person as long as he or she has a clear understanding of how to arrange the bubbles in coming up with a winning combination.

Bubble Games For Kids

Bubble games can be played by adults and children alike even though for varying reasons. Unlike in grown ups where they are used to relax brains especially after a day's hard work, they can be used as child activities for fun to children. This can be a very simple way of keeping them engaged to avoid idleness and they will get to enjoy it. Before getting them to start playing, make sure all the necessary playing equipment are well in place and the playing ground is clear of any obstacles.

Common Children Bubble Games

Choose the best type of game for your child or children from the following:

Blowing contest - This is mainly used to see the child who has the ability to blow as many bubbles as possible. It can also be used to determine a child who maintains one for long time in the air or blow very many at the same time.

Dodging - It is also a good idea to try this one out where all the children form a circle and have one of them stand at the centre. The other children will then blow theirs and he or she tries to avoid being hit by any of them for at least a minute and it promises to be enjoyable for the children.

Tagging - In this one, a child is given a number of bubbles and chases the rest with them until he or she tags one with the bubbles who then takes over and it continues like that for the longest time they can be able to sustain the game.

Relays and races - This involves dividing the children into several teams and then selecting individuals from each group to blow a bubble and guiding it along a line to the end. The one who finishes first wins and it is repeated to all members of each and every group.

Stacking - This is accomplished by selecting a child from every group and having him or her blow the bubbles to catch them on the wand. Other members of the team repeat the same placing each on top of the other and the one with many stacks is declared the winner.

When choosing the best bubble game for children, consider some factors like excessive jumping and running which might cause them injuries. Therefore, it is good to go for the one that involves little activity if at all possible but if not then choose any since all they want is fun.

Having children play bubble games is a good idea to keep them active during their free time but be sure to choose the best bubble game for them.

Firstly, it just makes sense to create copies of anything you place value on, particularly when it can be so readily done.Perhaps you have been lucky or careful enough with your games to date and have not had to think about this before but when it comes to copying and making backups of your favourite computer games, it is a very straight forward process. Anyone who enjoys playing computer games whether it be on their PC or on any of the major gaming consoles such as PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo etc knows exactly how addictive it can become and how compelled you can be to complete certain levels, attain high scores or just get the better of your buddies in multiplayer or online action.

The next reason is that it is simply so easy to do. In most cases all that is required is to download and install the software you have purchased, insert the original game you wish to copy, load it onto the software and then insert a blank CD or DVD etc and press copy and you're done. It usually takes three to five minutes and you're ready to start playing a brand new copy of your original game.By copying your favourite games you will preserve the condition of your originals, which will then be available for copying again in the future should the need ever arise. You'll also be much less concerned about taking your discs with you to other locations or just over to play at your buddies house, safe in the knowledge that if you do misplace or damage them whilst out and about, all is not lost. On a similar note, if you happen to live for extended periods of time in different locations, like say college and home, you can back up all your favourite games and leave copies at each location.

The other main advantages of using game backup software to make duplicates of your favourite games is that you stand to potentially save significant money. Replacing just one original game by purchasing a second copy would usually cost more than the one-time cost of acquiring the software to back up your games. You also stand to reduce the stress of having to fork out for additional gaming discs after the kids have damaged or lost the original copy and are now begging you to replace it. Perhaps you're the careless one.The end result is the same, you're left with no game and no option but to buy another one or do without. Not an easy thing to do when you're hooked on your latest acquisition. This can all be avoided by taking pre-emptive action and backing up all of your favourite games in advance, before you ever come to regret that you didn't. Keep on gaming:-)

Uncovered Features of Funny Games

In dealing with funny games online, features are always on the top of gamers' considerations. They usually base their choices in the power of features and how they could bring remarkable gaming experiences to them. No one will prefer games that will just present very simple sets of operations over more challenging ones. Most gamers would really prefer those challenging play-offs. The more fun and excitement they can feel when they are being challenged by these games. Boredom is not an issue when it comes to challenging play-offs, most especially if multi-playing is allowed, as almost all gamers like playing with real players. They will enjoy more when they are playing with their friends. Gaming is truly a great bonding activity that is suitable for groups of friends who prefer to just stay in one place to play computer play-offs rather than going outdoors.

Game playing is also a good leisure activity for families. Of course, not all the time families will spend their spare time together in other places. Many families like spending their spare time at their own homes. The most comfortable place to stay-in is always at home. Members of the families can play various funny games via video game consoles, personal computers, laptops, computer tablets, mobile phones, and other gaming devices. Out of these devices, personal computers are the common ones that are being used by gamers and non-gamers, as these tools are multi-purpose. Although computers are not made specifically for gaming only, but people can make these devices specialized for playing. With computer upgrading systems, the features of computers will be enhanced to more powerful ones that are capable of playing games that have larger memory requirements due to their advanced graphics and functionality.

Upgrading computers into advanced levels is certainly possible and not that hard to do, as you will just have to consult for computer technicians or perhaps gaming experts. However, doing this could really cost you big amount of money, most especially if you wanted to replace several tools and features at the same period of time. Upgrading in a practical way would really take years just to make your device a really powerful one, unless you are willing to spend lots of your money in just a short period of time. You can upgrade tools and features gradually. In fact, it would me much better to upgrade them one at a time. You can save money when you are willing to do it in a practical way. There are also many gaming tools that are on-sale if you just have the perseverance to search for them in various places. Video cards are basic requirements for these upgrading methods, and most of these high-level video cards would really cost you a lot, especially those new versions.

Great games will be more appreciated if they will be played using good devices. If these advance play-offs are made to be played in particular devices, their wonderful features will show if playing requirements will be followed efficiently. In every game there are always playing requirements. Even though you can play most of these games using different gaming devices, but still they are more promising when their requirements are followed.

Many games offer realistic gaming experiences to consumers, most of these are considered as high-level games with advanced requirements. They could present promising graphics that could make gaming very realistic, just like gamers who are really playing in action. The action figures of these wonderful play-offs can bring more intense effects, as if gamers represent their own characters. Thus, adrenaline levels will definitely increase along with intense action scenes.

Several action games like those fighting and racing play-offs could bring adrenaline rush to players, because of their realistic features. Players could really feel the actual game situations just like they are really present there. Some racing games will make players feel that they are the real drivers, because of the clarity of the graphics, audio, and controls. They can control some of racing cars almost the same as they are really driving them. These action games are available online, which can play them via the internet or can even download them, so that players can play them anywhere and anytime.

Other features include live interaction while playing. This means that player can interact with their co-payers even when they are playing by just opening chat box feature. Funny games that offer this great features are those online games that are played with the presence of the Internet. Since the web allows networking of data from different places, thus it allows communication as well. This advantage was incorporated to online games, so that player can get the realistic gaming experiences they expected to have.

With the advancements of technologies nowadays, 3D games were discovered. These play-offs have more realistic appeals. Their graphics could enhance the appearances of your favorite gaming characters, as you can see them just like they are in front of you. The movements of gaming figures are far different from ordinary games when you play 3D play-offs. Since they have 3-dimensional graphic feature, thus they can make people believe that they are representing their characters. The action scenes can be made more intense if the graphics are wonderful, and will be put together with magnificent audio capabilities. The sound is a significant part of gaming, as it is not just all about viewing. Gaming involve people's sense of sight and hearing. Games could hardly appreciate any funny games that have no sound features. Actually, all games really need the stated basic features, so that they can be labeled as real ones, because one of their main purposes is to entertain. It would be hard for these games to bring out their purposes if they did not possess these uncovered basic features.

Bring the entertainment world of games with you anywhere, anytime with the magnificent funny games offered by Fun Fast Game, of which you can experience memorable game play experience on your PC and mobile phone.

This article is written by Kevin Nguyen, from Fun Fast Game. Let your mind and body works in motion by playing with these remarkably programmed funny games online.

Know More About Duke Nukem Forever

Duke Nukem Forever was most recently given a "Mature" rating by the ESRB, the least surprising story ever since the firing of Charlie Sheen. Here's some excerpts from the official ESRB rating overview that got Duke Nukem Forever its well-deserved "Mature" rating.

It is a first-person shooter in which players take on the character of Duke Nukem, an action hero who must protect Earth from invading aliens. Nothing significant so far - this could be a buttered up Halo for all we know. But keep reading and the overview starts to really feel more like a murderous horror than an actual rating:

Aliens are frequently decapitated or dismembered when hit. A few sequences show a lot more over-the-top cases of violence: aliens getting stabbed in the top of the head or impaled; a human soldier bursting into bloody gibs right after being tossed through propeller rotor blades.

The team at Duke Nukem Forever has the task of fulfilling a decade and a half of buzz as well as anticipations, yet in doing so, it requires to kick censors aside for its exceptional, graphic game play:

Gamers enter a strip club level and view a couple of nude dancers as well as receive lap dances. A couple of quests within this level require gamers to recover sex toys and photographs of nude females. Two women appear to perform fellatio on the central character, Duke moans and leans up against the wall of a bathroom stall (furnished with a hole), it is suggested that a sex act (not depicted) happens.

Furnished with a hole offers a fine, detailed touch, so does the excerpt in general. It is like the regulators went from making a ratings scheme to writing an adult novel. This could have been the next couple of lines in my opinion (my version):

Duke caresses a female lady of the night while sitting on a papered toilet seat cover, holding her with sculpted biceps as well as anabolic steroid infused forearms, mimicking the act of sexual intimacy. The lady surrenders to every ounce of charm, machismo, as well as timber echoing from Duke's resonant voice, as it's assumed, the two are engaged in baby-making.

Rated "R" for REALLY Romantic...

Here's an excerpt from the real summary:

Toilet humor involves the ability to urinate in bathrooms or urinals and/or grab feces from toilets and toss it against walls. Gamers could use both steroid pills as well as beer as power-ups; when alcohol is ingested, the monitor temporarily blurs.

Way to crush mood, guys...

I found the mention of the screen blurring intriguing. They make use of the phrasing "power ups" in the previous sentence but wouldn't go so far as to say make use of "beer goggles" when referring to Duke drinking alcohol (probably because it is more of a "power down"). Just couldn't bring themselves to get it done, I suppose.

The language 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' 'c*ck,' as well as 'a*shole' appear in dialogues as well as on-screen text.

So, in other words, there's a significant amount of rap music in the game.

Check out the full summary of the "Mature" rating. You may learn something, probably not, yet at the very least it is going to keep you from counting down the hours until Duke Nukem Forever's official release.

Cheats And Codes For Grand Theft Auto 4

Grand Theft Auto and it's numerous episodes is a real classic under the sandbox-games. You have so much opportunity and can do just about everything you like, which unfortunately you will not be able to do in typical level-based video games.

Yet still there are times a mission assignment can be really difficult to accomplish, or possibly the everyday "running over people on the streets, car-chases" with the police officers end up being dull. It's actually those times in which you should really retrieve your cell-phone and use one or perhaps lots of of the well over five-hundred available cheat codes for Grand Theft Auto!

The Flying Vehicle Cheat:
This is actually one of my favorites, it's so much fun to get in your car, then enter "321-555-8031" on your cell-phone and off you go!

You would not believe how much fun it is to fly around in your vehicle if you haven't tried it for yourself...

Spawn a Police Chopper:
Just dial "FLY-555-0100" on your cell and a Police Chopper will appear right in front of you, enter it and fly away!

Become Invincible:
In case you ever run out of ammo, which actually happens quite often to me, you pull up your cell and dial "482-555-0100" for unlimited ammunition and health! Now you are completely invulnerable!

As you can see there are quite a few different cheat codes you could use, but believe me when I say that these three cheats are really just a fraction of what you could possibly do with these codes. It's actually pretty hard to come by a really complete list of cheats for GTA, sadly most websites claim to have a complete list but once you clicked in the Google results on the promising listing you experience a bitter disappointment. There are really only a few sites that have a near complete list, and those tend to rank on pretty low positions in Google, Yahoo and Bing. This is exactly why it can someone ages to find a good list.

The developers of Grand Theft Auto did a really good job implementing all of these cheat codes, all these "hacks" have to be programmed, the effects designed and implemented by graphic artists. So it's not as if these cheat codes were bugs in the game. The cheats are willingly put there by the developers, for only one reason: To make the game experience more interesting for everyone.

But you should not give up all your hopes because of this article, "hard to come by" in this case means that you probably have to search for a few hours to find a site but it's not impossible. Get the most complete list of cheat codes for all GTA episodes on the website below and then go and have some fun in Liberty city, Vice City, Los Santos or anywhere else in the GTA universe!

Gaming Desktop Configuration

Gaming desktops are top-of-the-line computers configured to run the all the modern games the gaming world has to offer. They don't come cheap, if you're wondering, nor are they eco-friendly when it comes to power consumption, but they are the best desktops when it comes to gaming, and they will display every pixel in crystal clear detail when needed. In order to have a good gaming desktop configuration, you'll have to have a basic grasp over some of the specifications such a machine should carry. You'll also have to set up a budget when trying to configure such a machine, or upgrade your current specs.

The Central Processing Unit

Gaming desktops need a powerful processor in their configuration in order to keep up with the ever-increasing requirements modern games have. Without a good CPU, you won't be able to even start-up such a game, not to mention run it. Your focus here is somewhere in the quad-core range. These can be a bit pricey, but they're a well worth investment in your future as a gamer, since they won't grow obsolete for years to come. Try to allocate at least 35% of your budget to this spec, since it's very important both for gaming and for other daily tasks you might run into.

You might also want to take note of the current socket your computer has for the processor, and explore upgrade options for that particular socket. But if you want a complete system upgrade, you'll also have to get a new motherboard to support the newer processor types that come out.

The System Memory

A decent amount of RAM will run a decent game. A higher amount of system memory will be a lot better for your gaming needs, since most games today require at least 2GB of RAM to run properly. If you really want to get the best performance out of your gaming desktop, your configuration for this spec should be in the 4-8GB RAM range. Luckily, RAM is an easily upgradeable spec, since most motherboards will carry around 4 sockets. If all the sockets are occupied on your system, you should look for RAM modules with a larger amount of system memory available.

The Visuals

The graphics card is the most important spec when figuring out the configuration of your gaming desktop. This is the element that brings true visual bliss to the gaming experience, so the joy factor will suffer if you neglect this aspect. There are tons of cards out there, but only a few which you can truly call the best. Since the best cards come at quite a big price tag, don't overdo it when purchasing a video card for your system. You should wait for a while since the prices on these things tend to go on a downward slope quite quickly, and you could get the same card at half the price in a matter of months, or weeks even in some cases.

Try to find a balance for these three important specifications when configuring your gaming desktop. Also, never spend all your budget on one of them, since the system will be unbalanced and data bottlenecks can occur.

Find out more about these specs and other, along with some great pre-built suggestions at the Gaming Desktops page I have created.
